Mathon, in the Paznaun
Some places change slowly. Mathon sits in the Paznaun Valley much as it has for generations, between the river and the mountains. Ischgl lies a few minutes away, with its restaurants, ski lifts and bike trails, winter and summer activities. In Mathon, the days keep a slower rhythm.
The house is built from materials with a history of their own: reclaimed timber, rough-sawn oak and stone drawn from the surrounding mountains. Nothing is polished for effect. The warmth comes from texture, age and use.
Mathon, above Ischgl
The valley runs beneath the peaks of the Silvretta and Verwall ranges, following the Trisanna River through one of Tyrol's most remarkable alpine landscapes. Cross-country and hiking trails begin in the village itself.
Winter in the Silvretta Arena
Linked across the border to Samnaun in Switzerland, with lifts a few minutes from the door. Wide pistes, open freeride terrain and two freestyle parks keep the winter long and varied.
A second season
Paths climb from the valley floor to high ridges and mountain lakes, and quiet roads wind toward the Silvretta. Lower down there are rivers to fish, trails to ride and the Silvretta Therme.
Getting there
The residence
Chalet Mathon was originally conceived as a collection of private apartments. Here, one entire floor has been combined into a single residence: generous in scale, practical in use, and suited to longer periods spent in the mountains.
Interiors
Every Fourma home is conceived as a whole rather than assembled piece by piece. Shared spaces are given room enough for family life and long evenings around the table. Timber, stone and natural fabrics are chosen for their durability and the way they age with use.
Furniture, lighting, linens, tableware and artwork are considered together from the outset. Little needs to be added or improved — the house arrives complete and settles naturally into use.
Bedrooms
The standard is inspired by the world's finest hotels, where comfort is measured not by what is seen, but by how well one sleeps. Generous beds, carefully selected mattresses, blackout curtains, natural fabrics and acoustic privacy are found throughout the residence.
The difference is that this remains a home. Familiar, quiet and private, with the mountains waiting beyond the window in the morning.
Wellness
The day does not necessarily end when the skiing does. Below the residence is a private wellness floor with a pool, sauna, steam room and fitness facilities for residents, and a private sauna within the apartment itself. A few minutes earlier you may have been on the mountain. Now there is nowhere else to go.
Most second homes spend much of the year unoccupied. Their owners carry the costs and responsibilities of ownership, while spending on hotels and short-term rentals when life unfolds elsewhere.
Fourma takes a different view. We acquire and create homes intended to be lived in, cared for and used throughout the year. Each residence is maintained and managed by Fourma, so it remains ready for the people it belongs to. A home's value lies not in ownership itself, but in the life it makes possible.
Ownership need not be all or nothing. Some owners choose an entire residence; others acquire a portion of one, aligning ownership with the time they expect to spend there — without the responsibility of owning more than they will use.

Austria
In Austria, owning a second home is about more than finding the right property. Strict regulations govern how second homes may be purchased, held and used, affecting international buyers and Austrian residents alike.
In many cases owners are permitted to spend only a limited number of weeks each year in their property, with the remainder allocated to short-term rental use. Ownership brings not only the pleasures of a home, but a framework of legal, administrative and operational responsibilities.
Fourma was created to navigate that complexity. We structure, manage and care for residences on behalf of their owners, leaving them free to spend their time there rather than manage it from afar.
Beyond a single address
Traditional second-home ownership is centred on a single place. Owners of a Fourma residence may spend time in other Fourma homes as well: the address changes, while the experience remains familiar — considered design, thoughtful management and a sense of belonging wherever one arrives.
